Royal Wedding Kate

Kate is an impressive big bodied Thoroughbred mare with warmblood like conformation.   Her large hip, forward stifle, and broad croup transmit plenty of power.  She has fabulous legs with good bone, and a great swinging walk.  Kate has strong feet and goes barefoot when not in full work.  Her natural rideability is excellent - she is easy to sit, forward, but not hot, and goes on the bit readily.  As a 4 year old, Kate looked like a mature 6 year old and we expect her babies to do well on the line and in the ring.  We are anticipating good things at her ISR/Oldenburg inspection. When not heavy in foal, Kate has been used for lunge lessons here at Rudy Horsemanship.

Kate’s breeding is exactly what we look for in a TB broodmare.  Twelve of the first 15 predecessors on her pedigree had long and sound racing careers, most impressive being Gifted Lover with over 50 starts.  Kate’s sire, Toccet, earned over $900,000 in 23 starts.  Toccet’s sire is the immortal Awesome Again, who won over $4million, has a $75,000 stud fee and is still covering mares at the age of 22.     Kate’s dam sire, Waquoit, earned over $2.2 million in 30 starts, and won stakes ranging from 6 furlongs to 1 ½ miles.   Kate's pedigree is influenced on both sides by the great French sire Caro, once through Cozzene, the Canadian Tripple Crown Winner.  Caro was an impressive grey Irish Thoroughbred, who is valued as a producer of jumpers, event horses and steeplechasers.  In Kate’s 4 generation pedigree is also the famous American Tripple Crown Winner, Seattle Slew.   Kate’s pedigree is also heavily influenced by sires known to produce sport horses-in her first 6 generations are the famous  sires Northern Dancer, Nasrullah, Mr.Prospector, Raise a Native, Princequillo, and Turn to.
